The good news? You don't have to be a published or celebrated writer, artist, or photographer (but if you are, we won't turn you away) to submit your work. You can call yourself grandma, barista, therapist, engineer. Maybe you're a rock star, marine biologist, or a sheep-herder who free dives. We don't care how old you are or what you do for a living. Everyone has a story (or two or three-okay, that's our max for submissions) to tell…Share your ocean experiences with us, and we'll share it with others. Send your stories (real or imagined), poems, photography, and artwork to our Oceans editors at paias@encompassingseas.com.
The not-so-good news? We'll only publish ocean-related or ocean-inspired work. So, if you want to send us photographs or stories of your beloved pussy-cat Juliet, well…we won't look at it unless the little kitty went off to sea with an owl in a beautiful pea-green boat. But, if you want to tell us about the time you went surfing without your buddies and found yourself surrounded by humpback whales, well, we want to hear about it! Or maybe you tried crossing the Moloka‘i channel and was lost at sea and rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard—yes, we definitely want to hear from you.
